Beamswork LED's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I left my t8's on for few days with the Led's. I never really liked the combined look. When I finally took them off it looked so much better. I guess it was the drastic difference in bulb color though.

I was concerned about the lack of yellow in the leds, did the t5s show off reds better than the leds,

My FM looks the same if not better with the led's. But I had very purple bulbs in my fixtures before

Thanks! Please do post pics. Any reason for the double bright? Like live plants ect...or do you just want a brighter tank? Just curious.

I read a few reviews and the most common complaint seemed to be the brightness of the single bright fixture. The Marineland website says the single bright 48" is the equiv. of a single 40 watt tube and the double bright is the equiv. of 2 -40 watt tubes. My aquarium is 24" deep and I want that shimmering effect on the floor so I opted for the brighter fixture.

Git my 48" Beamworks LED a few days back and finally got a chance to set it up last night.

WOW

Totally impressed.

One thing to keep in mind, is that I have a 60" tank and the 48" lights brighten up up 98% of my tank. And pretty bright too.

Single or double?

I've had most of mine since last year. The 36" on my 75 gallon is doing ok, however it seems dimmer now. The 48" on my 220 has lost 3 of the blue lights and to some that doesn't matter I'm sure. The other 36" on my 220 has barely any light output at all now. I don't know if I'm just having bad luck, but the next lights I order very soon will not be these....sorry.

That's alright Chris, better to hear not so great reviews than nothing at all. Just glad I bought these on a whim instead of banking on them.
