Beamswork LED's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
would i be better off with single or 2x bright for a 200 gal 96"lx24"wx20"h tank? I currently have 2 36" t8 bulbs. I am happy with that light output, but one bulb went out, so i figure to switch to LED.

IMO its up to personal preference. Both will adequately light the tank, they just have 2 different looks. If you look through the whole thread you can see many examples of both setups.

Thanks for the update, glad they are still going. My 2x 48" are going strong @ over 16 months now. I still have no complaints

How's the maintenance on the tanks after switching to the LED's (specifically the hi-lumen ones). I get a decent amount of algae with running 4 T5HO's for 6 hours a day.

I really worry about the amount of algae that will come with having over 3000 lumens on my 120. Or god forbid I have to order a 2nd one for coverage.

I know I personally only use the standard 48" fixture, not the one intended for reefs or planted tanks. My tank has normal algae growth (takes about a week to become noticeable) and that's running the lights for 9 hrs daily

Hi everyone. I need lights, for sure I want beamswork LEDs. Should 1 48" be enough for my 180GAL (6'x2'x2') or just get a 72"? The 72" has been out of stock for a while at aquatraders.

I have 2x48" single brites on a 6x27.5" and it is around 95% coverage. If it was me I would do either 1 72" or 2x48"

My 220 (72x24x29) w/beamswork 6ft single bright led. I could not be more pleased with the quality, look, and overall performance of my beamswork unit.
