Before & After : Substrate and background

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks gangstar. That front is a Zaire blue.8.5 inch. Tank bred from wild caught parents. Very slow growing . Similar growth rate to dats and Flagtail .
Think I will add background , and leave bare bottom.
Thanks for all respnses and honest opinions to all those who replied.

the tank looked good before and i usually hate white sand and blue background. haha. all of my tanks are BB because its so much easier to keep clean. i run a powerhead for a few hours every night to kick up the fish poop so the filters suck it up. i do paint the back and bottom black on all of my tanks though. keeps the look super clean and makes the light colored fish pop. the darker fish are hard to see sometimes but thats only when the lights are out.

nice dats btw!

Thought I'd update you all on the current tiger community.:D I finally gone bare tank and no background, both at same time. Not sure if I 'm gonna hkeep it that way, but will not be changing for several months. ...let the tigers settle and get used to it.

letme know what you think guys and girls. cheers

I have always had sand and background, but since joining mfk aout 8 months ago, been very intrigued to do this, after seeing other peoples tanks.

may be I'll add some fake vallis , as the tigers allways look good swimming amongst long leaved plants imo.

Looks 10x better before. Looks like a tank in a shop they lift out fish from - a temp setup or something.
