Beginner, hi, just want some suggestions...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well the hi fin sharks CAN get to 6 foot in the wild...4 foot in aquaria :/

And the paroon are very very agressive fish..And balas can get to 16'' actually it is pretty common for them to get that size..

If she wants to keep her fish a 800 gal plus aquaria is rquired..:D Lucky you A giant tank  I think that you should get a bigger tank..Then get more fish :D

i reckon if not feeding everyday, 1 month TOPS.
its not even a case of growing out by itself, its that the fish will get eaten and quickly. while they r all the same size its not a prob, but wer just sayin we want her to enjoy her fish and not end up in tears because the ids bones r stickin through its skin or its eaten everything in the tank. plus its better to get rid of an id now as when they get bigger u wont be able to rehome it as easily. but make sure people u sell it too are aware they will need a pond for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you keep for example these fish in this tank, they won't grow much bigger, because the tank kind of prevent them from growing so big????

WRONG !

Most of your fish need very VERY large tank (s) .

IF you do keep all these fish in this tank , they will get stunned , but will still end up out growing the tank after a couple of months and most likely start been aggressive with each other and killing the other fish and then most prob's kill them selfs because of thesize of the tank is too small .

IMO - get rid of all the fish apart from the Betta for that tank .

Then ever get a tank about 500Gal + for the others or sell/ give away the others .

That would be cruel.

She did say though that she is buying another bigger tank soon, so there shouldn't be that much problems then?

Since she plans to hand the hi fins to you and hasn't said how big it will be one could assume it's not going to be more than your 100g I could easily be wrong though.

I don't think she needs to get rid of all her fish, because by the time she gets a bigger tank they will be suitable for that tank. She also said earlier that she will give her hi fin sharks to me, so that should solve that problem or am I wrong?

Are you the fiance with the 100g? It will solve the problem for her, but you'll be left charge of finding them a new home.

The fish are still very very small, not even an inch long. So they will survive another month in that tank. But please correct me if I am wrong.

Are you sure? They look a bit more than an inch to me, could be the photo though.

Not trying to sound harsh, sorry if it comes across that way.

:)No Problems. I am the fiance and yes I was planning on putting it into my tank but at the same time I am looking for a 500g or a 800g tank to use for my fish so hopefully with in the next 2 to 3 months I will have a bigger tank to support the fish because I need to put some of my fish in a bigger tank to.

So please if any body knows of were I can find a bigger tank in South Africa let me know I am trying every were.:nilly:
I am thinking of building my own.

I agree with everyone here...but I will try to look on the bright side lol...nicely decorated tank...(plz upgrade the tank or downgrade on the fish soon )
