Beginning of a New Fishroom

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You should try to maintain the humidity of your basement to not exceed 50%RH. I would hate to see a fellow hobbyist ruins their house and their health. Moisture + wood = black mold.

Nice setup, but I do have to agree that you need to seal off the area, and get an air exchanger, or at least a de-humidifier.

Thanks everyone!! Big update when I get home..

The humidity so far hasn't been a problem. I also have a 300+ gal pond in the basement with "The Juggernaut" my RTC/TSN hybrid catfish who is 30+ inches. I do have a dehumidifier but haven't really had to use it

2 new sets of wigglers!! And more discus!! But not much progress with the second system..

So I got wigglers now on their 2nd and 3rd days respectively.. The Red Dragon and El Toro Azul have a good bunch of wigglers and a mated pair not in the system also with wigglers on their 3rd day should be free swimming very soon!!!

Also moved the 2 Wild Heckels from the system into my 120 community with.... 3 more new Wild Heckels from a second source.. And my buddy picked up a confirmed pair of Electric Dream discus and they are in the system downstairs... They are gorgeous.. and should be spawining within the week!! they acclimated very well and are a confirmed pair which is why we switched them into the system and the heckels out...

Got a really good deal on the wilds today from Aqua Life in Providence,RI... The Best LFS around... Without question.. Always an excellent selection of fish including discus and hard to find pleco's...

Speaking of which, i also picked up a pair of Blue Panaque... They are gorgeous, but hard to photograph..
