Best canister filter and why...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Eheim is my fave cannister. Have two that have been running for well over 10 years NON STOP 24/7 with zero probs except that the hoses need to be replaced roughly every 5 years (stiffening from water). Not just a quiet filter but silent. Extremely ergonomic with few moving parts. Rubber gaskets on mine are STILL in good shape after all these years. Spensive but worth it in my opinion.

:WHOA: :WHOA: :WHOA: DiZaMMM!! man!
that's over 87,360 hours of use, Fricking amazing...

**note to self:
Self, hold one on the Filstar/XP3, Seriously look again at Eheim products** :thumbsup:

I agree. Eheim is the best. Go a step further:

Hose supplier has the best I've seen. I sent an inch of hose I needed for perfect match. Sta-Pure® Will probably last forever. They'll send a sample for the asking, too.

i have a magnum 350 on my 125g along with a 40g wet/dry overflow filter and it keeps my aquarium crystal clear. the magnum is quiet,efficient and easy to clean ive heard good things about the ehiems though too id have to say they are the 2 best filters

i have both an eheim and magnum 350. eheim hasn't let me down in 4 years and it's been thru countless power outages, (get alot of typhoons where i'm from) i've had my magnum for around 6 monthns, but so far i've had no problems. i love the fact that it's transparent and quiet, takes awhile to kick in after an outage though.

I've used magnums before and love it!
Never tried Eheim before but now i would like too someday..... hearing all the positive sides from People that have used it.

I use an XP3 on my 135g and it works great.
The water is crystal clear.
Now, I have heard great things about the Eheim and Magnum filters;
but for the money you can't beat the Filstar XP3.
