  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
cant stand fluvals :swear: pain to prime all water doesnt go through media :swear: never tried a xp3 or magnum heard great stuff about both but had a eheim in the past and loved it would/will buy them again loved it they are the best they rock :headbang2 just my 2 cents

Before departing with it in 2004, my Fluval403 was on pretty much 24-7 since 1991.

Next best thing now is the FilStar xp series. Because of their price and easy setup, I enjoy these bazookas.

Fluwho are budget filters

you just cant beat the ehiems but im not to keen on the ehiem wet/dry filters

the eheim pro3 is a work of art :D

Have Eheim bucket filters, Eheim large return pumps from the sumps, and standard canister filters ( classic and professionals ) on the tanks, have never had a problem ( apart from being hamfisted and breaking ceramic shafts when cleaning ) Eheims are reliable and still easy to get parts for.
I just dont have the same confidence in Fluvals but plenty of people use them and are happy.

I have 3 fluval 404's ive had them for a couple of years now they work great for me!! :grinyes:

i just got a flistar xp3 and fluval 404 for christmas and have put both on opposite ends of my 180 tall.....be ready to put these things together if u ever get one because its a ton more work than a HOB like i was used to.....priming on the 404 was a bit easier than the xp3 but both were put together with the same difficulty....they both have great flow rates and the outlets have strong powerjets that really get the water moving

I like the XP3. I think they are super easy to prime/maintain. I had one set up yesterday in about 5 minutes.
