best cichlid community you ever had or still do

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
that sounds like a good mix, i really like pearsei

Another MFK member in my town is raising 5 of them and has said I can pick one of his to buy when I have the 210g ready. It will be interesting to see how my Midas reacts to a fish his size.

i dont think you could go wrong with either the pearsei or the bocourti, a guy on here has one of the best looking bocourti iv ever seen, there is a picture on a thread about bocourti on this page.(think its called bocourti from don conkel) I do like them big pearsei though, iv never owned one but there suppose to have a great temperament, i hope it all works out well for you

I've got a 180 with:

11" Midas
8" Jag
8" RT
6" RTM Female
2" convict

3 senegals
2 ornates
1 albino sen
2 zaire green
2 palmas

I had a 10" RT, and a 10" FH in this tank as well, but sold them to make room for other fish.

I only had 2 incidents of aggression, and it was from the large RT. (Killed a mahseer, and malawi hawk.)

I had an 11" RT, and a 10" FH in this tank, but they got sold because I wanted to thin the tank.

hers is my large community

Wow! Some nice stocklists going on here. Strangely enough I feel "overstocked" in my 300 with

1 6" jack dempsey
1 6" barred Midas
1 6" parachromis loisellei
1 4" green terror
1 4" firemouth
1 3" convict
1 3" festae

with

6 3" silver dollars
1 6" L204
1 4" L147

guess time will tell......

dont flame me but i find it easier to do a community with a overstocked tank because aggresion really spreads out and so far my 180 g is full of 3-6 inch fish and no deaths here is the stock list, also all fins are perfect, but what you have to do is remove all the aggresive fish and everytime i have a super aggresive fish i sell him and replace him but so far i only replaced 1 mean texas but he was 7 inches big , dont hate me but my fish are all healthy and thriving , i just have lots of hiding places

3x synspillums
1x regani
1x hartwegi
1x bifasciatum
1x bocourti
1x pearsi
1x beani
1x umbee
1x red devil
1x barred midas
5 x clown loaches
3 x silver dollers small
1x red texas
1x h.carpintis "escondido"
1x green terror
1x cuban
1x featherfin catfish
1x argenteana
1x geo red hump
1x blood parrot

Not to flame but I have to say, you are kidding yourself if you honestly believe a stock list like that will or can work long term in a tank that size. Aggression issues will change everything but even if we take aggression out of the scenario, the bio-load alone on that tank will guarantee that all the fish will never even have a chance of reaching their true potential. Honestly,I wouldn't even dream of a stock list like that in my 800+gal tank.

My 800+gal with only 6 cichlids, all of which are still growing. Now be honest to yourself and imagine your stock list, fully grown in a 180g.;)
