best food for cichlids

I dont know about single pellets, but i think the best way to go is a mix of foods, some pet stores give you the choice of that, me though, i put large flakes into a small dish, then small pelets, then i cut up small shrimp, they grow like weeds now

I've used NLS for a few years, but recently got into Omega One as well for my cichlids...along with frozen krill and freeze dried mysis

I didnt realize this untill just recently and luckily I stumbled on this thread. I switch my 2 oscars and 1 JD to Bio-Gold a little while back and they loved it. Grew like weeds and had colors that were impressive. But all of the sudden in the last few days I would say they have become less and less interested in the food. I have it set up on an automatic feeder right now because I travel for work sometimes and dont trust my girl friend to take care of them. I am thinking about getting a second feeder and just switching between two different kinds of food. One in the morning one at night. Do you think switching just between 2 will not be enough to keep them interested?

Ussually I have something to also throw in before I go to bed if they appear hungry, some freeze dried blood worms or shrimp or something. Will this be enough variety to keep them interested in the food? I have noticed a slow down in their growth lately and they are eating much less. I can only assume its because they are now board with the food.

They could be bored, but also make sure the water conditions are good, as a negative change could affect their appetite.
