Best glassbanger for a 75?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have had Midas that were glassbangers and I have had completely mild ones like the one I'm now raising. A solo male Midas may work, just depends what they decide to be like.

Have yet to see one be a glass banger even close to a Devil/dovii or midas.

Trimac or FlowerHorn

I second this. Although a nice creamsicle midas or rd could be cool. My green terror has only been a glassbanger since he bred and the fry have been free swimming, until then he would come up and look at you but wasn't interested further if you weren't coming to feed him.

Think I finally clutched and decided to sell off my africans, I just want to look at bigger guys, all these little fish are fun n all, but they don't represent me. A big meanie sounds better :headbang2 Think I'll be able to net a decent chunk of change for all of them too, got some white calvus that I've had for about a year now and they got pretty big so I should be able to make some buck off of them along with the mbuna I'm stocking now.

Only question, would I be hoping for too much if I tried to put my polypterus Delhezi in there with the future stock and hope it would work? One of the main reasons I want to get the africans out is b/c I miss him a lot and he's just chillin in the hospital tank atm and really doesn't get a lot of love, and I miss seeing his antics. Too much to hope for with something like a midas / RD that they could coincide if I raised them together from the start? The Delhezi is about 9" and really just does his own thing. When I had him in a 55 with a GT, FM, and convict the only time he'd get harassed was when he would go into their territories.

Get a female festae

best looking freshwater fish there is, period. and possibly one of the most aggressive as well... heard they can be true *****es even worse than males lol

My GT was not a terror @ all, more of a bully the a terror.
He would just push his weight around, much like most of my Oscars.
My RD on the other hand is what your asking for!!!
He bangs the glass all day!:headbang2
He constantly wakes/scares my dog when he's sleeping, & makes me jump out of bed thinking I have a cracked tank!
(knocking on wood...)
I just took vids of his attack the magnet cleaner, you can hear the snaps/bangs quite clearly.

For a 75G go the RD/Midas route.
They'd be even happier in a 90G, same foot print more volume.

Even my female like to attack me through the glass.
She doesn't bang like my male tho.
I'm hoping my new guy/gal is a banger, the red eyes make me think it might be.

Good luck in your search.

Was checkin out the gar section...man one of those would be sweet! But would be a completely different direction than what I was initially thinking.

No one thinks my polypterus would survive in there with a RD / midas / somethin else?
