The titanium heating elements are fine.
The external controllers are the problem.
They can malfunction by becoming stuck in on position, which overheats the tank and cooks your livestock.
I have used 2 in the past. Both times the controllers have failed. One failed with no power, the other failed by the thermostate didn't shut down overheating the tank. I will never recommend any vital equipment for the aquarium that is made in China. They have very poor QC standards.
