Best Pellet Food for Stingrays - Part Deux

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, the stuffing method has worked well for me. Also, try soaking massivore or carnivore in the ray's favorite food's "juices".

Tried soaking and nothing, never tried stuffing with the rays, I.would just think all the pellets will fall out.

If u cut the shrimp into 5 pieces (assuming they are jumbo) u can stuff easily 3 carnovire or one massivore into them. Using a scissor to cut a slit into the top and pressing a pellet in. Dip em in some water for a seond and let them sit for a minute or two. Sometimes they spit the pellets out but most of the time they eat it.

The key it to open only one are of the shrimp so that the pellet won't fall out the other end. So make a slit that dosent go all the way through. If anyone needs pics ill make the time to take some :D

Plus one. Once you get them taking the stuffed shrimp begin to decrease the amount of shrimp until BAM! Just massivore soaked in shrimp juice. Mmmmmmm...

Then, just massivore. :)

Darn, already looking food options all over again, lol, 8 rays and 35 fish just in one tank sure does eat allot. I wonder what I have gotten myself into at times. Found a place selling the Sturgeon pellets, might be an option I try. Who else has tried the sturgeon pellets?? about 10% more crude fat in the servings, smaller pellets

Where did you find a place selling hikari sturgeon? Medium size??

Funny enough newegg.com has them so they say. I'm trying to decide between ordering more pellets or just sticking with fresh foods I can find around.

newegg.com is a middleman to affordable aquatics.... I don't think they're selling the medium pellets anymore, but maybe they got a shipment in.

Which route did you go???

Which route did you end up going?

It took some time but the kens stuff get's mowed down!
The HBH super soft & moist is a bigger hit though and at first it's messy but after they get use it there's minimal amount of waste.

Biggest thing is there is ZERO stank compared to massivore.

Also, I agree that Krill is nicer to feed than MP.

The HBH soft and moist almost seemed like crumbles... almost too much "dust" and smaller pieces. Regardless, they're going into my next pellet mix. I'm sure the rays will down these like all of the other pellets! They're pigs!!!

OK back from almost the dead, lol, FOOD FOOD and more FOOD. Anyone have any experience with [h=1]Ken's Premium Aqua Stable Pellets 9.5 mm[/h]I think I head someone talk about them once but I am not sure. 12.50 per 5 lbs sounds like an awesome opportunity as a feed them every couple days food. Even if just my larger rays eat it I would be super happy as they are always the hungry ones. I found of that if I try to introduce a new food too much that a fish will disappear out of my tank, lol good think it was a free fish at this point but in future it might not be and to get them onto something new I might need to move fish around or move all the fish out.
