Honestly, I completely understand where you're coming fromRuturaj ... but people will feed what they want to feed and sometimes no matter how much you try to help, they don't want the help. And that's ok. We live and learn. Like with me and my little guy; he only knows to eat floating pellets and that's probably all he will get until he dies (of old age hopefully). There's some great sinking pellet brands & varieties he will never get to eat. I'm ok with that. He's happy and healthy, and I'm cool with that.
We live & learn, or we don't. lol That seems more accurate, in my experience. I supplied retail aquatic stores here in Canada for close to a decade, and I used to watch consumers in local fish stores, and by and large the vast majority of people chose their food by the picture on the label, and the sticker price. Usually price was the final determining factor.
But you can't beat logic into peoples heads, that approach seldom works. Myself I would personally never feed a high protein diet to an adult or even semi adult FH, but I'm fine with those that do. Their fish, their choice. Just don't argue with me on how good it is for the health of an adult FH. It's not.
I posted to the thread bc someone asked what foods WE feel are good for FH and like I said, my fish is fine...I read a lot of **** saying blood worms are one of the best for fh and I honestly believe they caused my fish to have an erupted rectum that pretty much made his ******* hang from his body and I couldn't figure it out until I just stopped feeding him completely for about a week, it went away and ive been on a strict diet every since that has done my well FH very very well.I am not saying it works on not or if your fish is fine or not. My point is, why, you commented in to discussion, that's why I continued. It worked for me is not good enough supportive argument nor posting what the food says on it. I can say that I always dream about my flowerhorns hump to grow when I go to bed and so far it has worked, his hump has grown.
Nor me or you can judge that fish is fine. Fish look fine until they die or develop an issue.
There is past discussions about fish food that involves OKIKO, high protein food, Carophyll Pink/Red, Astaxanthin, effects of food on hump growth. There is so much discussion on this thread as well.
OKIKO PLATINUM HEAD HUNCHER

Here is one of my favorite post about foods that "work"

this is also my FIRST FH so I aint a expert fish keeper...but ive learned one major fact about these fish, water quality is the key to success
im not trying to argue with you guys lol, im just posting my opinion like everyone else...I started an account here bc of the bump on my FHs tail and the info I received from this site worked. so like I said before, I'll be more than happy to try w.e pellets ya'll think is best but as for now OKIKO has done the best for my fish than anything else ive triedYes, and I replied because I think the food you feed is not right and still do. Why, as I told you too much protein. You keep saying he is fine and I keep saying fish look fine till they don't look fine. Sure, the food you are feeding is better than feeding just blood worms. Blood worms are not best for flowerhorns, I don't know where you saw it but I am pretty sure not here, I don't see a point of bringing that up, unless you are saying there is wrong information on internet. I am not sure if you read my replies though as I brought up many different points, linked a good thread and quoted Rd.'s few great posts.
Everyone should know that. To be clear what I mean by water quality, I mean stable pH, right KH and GH, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, low nitrates, sufficient minerals and trace elements in water.
this is my first FH but not my first fish, ive had oscars live over 10 years off of basic water changes and basic fish food...when I say basic I mean NO stability formulas, no chlorine strippers, no PH kits or anything. NOT SAYING IM AGAINST ALL THE TEST but im just saying ive seen tank fish live for over 10-15 years without all the over thinking....im not trying to win a competition I just wanted a FHnow, if he dies from "sudden death" which I highly doubt at this point, then ill rethink my method and get another fish...reason why I believe he's fine is bc he's acting the way he's acted since I bought him and the two times he did act weird was bc of ICH and the ruptured rectum bullshiz from the bloodworms. Other than that he's super active and super super responsive and im pretty satisfied with him.
