Best Poly For A 40G Breeder?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
6x/hr is not that high. people who overstock usually go for 10-12x/hr...

I know it's not extraordinary... It is overfiltered though.

Are you saying it wouldn't work? With daily WCs?

Stop panicking. This is easy.
1) Get the fish.
2) Put fish in tank.
3) Take care of tank normally.
4) Do frequent Nitrite/Nitrate/Ammonia testing.
5) If the numbers don't look good, increase the water changes until they do.
6) If the water changes are excessive, buy more filtration.

You might want to get more driftwood or something, as I think most polys will appreciate having places they can hide.

Thanks. I was definately getting a bit anxious.:grinno:

I may have to...

If they don't like the PVC/slate tunnels behind the driftwood, i'll look into something else for sure.

I almost just want to get 2 now... I'm getting paranoid.

Ok, the call I just made sealed the deal.

I'm getting 3. :)

Next weekend I may make a trip to Petco to grab some more driftwood. I'd like to make a "pile" of it in the middle, so they can maneuver in and out, and have a place to rest. Also, I may eventually by some more pvc pipe, and get creative with some silicone and sand/gravel.

It will work out... I just need to chill out.

Thanks again.

I'm now keeping an eye on craigslist for a 55, or a 40 Long. I got the "ok", and I might be able to pull off buying a whole setup cheap.

This is going to be fun... I don't even have the fish yet. :D
