While fishing on a bridge at a state park, a little girl kept bothering me asking the names of my fish. while she was distracting me I ended up getting a big bite and lost my bait but thankfully not my rod lol. It was such a long time ago, but I think I have also had people think that my sucker minnows were fish that I caught.
At home, people are always interested in my senegal bichir. They think he is huge even though he is only 7 inches. A guy working on our house thought it was a catfish because of its barbels. He didn't seem to listen when I tried telling him it wasn't a catfish. My little cousin liked to watch him eat and was startled when the fish made a dash. Everyone always ignores the opaline gourami in the same tank(like he is invisible).
Not many people have seen my 75, but they are always amazed by how big it is, if I mention it. Very few people percentage wise keep aquariums larger than 55.
99.9% of people on here have over 55 gallons
My best reaction was HOLY SH*T that is a HUGE tank, and it was only a 30 gallon. Wait till they see my 300 gallon
