Let me know if you want a Sanchezi. I have a 5'' Red Sanchezi for $35. I live just East of Dayton.

LOL, that's about how I feel about it! Anytime you can make a living doing what you like to do it's a blessing in my book. I'm still checking out various exporters and trying to find the most efficient shipping methods but it's going well.
I'm building a breeding colony of unusual Angelfish and plan to breed and sell them which will really boost my morale. I've wanted a large Angel tank for a couple years now and never set one up. They've always been one of my favorite fish so brreding them should be a lot of fun.

I like angels too. I used to keep black lace veils, and koi. Cool fish. I was thinking about getting a 29 and 6 baby blue angelfish and letting them pair off. Either that or keyholes.

i will definitely have to get back to you Ohio Entusiast... you're pretty close to me (i'm just east of columbus). would love to have your little Sanchezi, sounds awesome...

just one last check on if just 1 Sanchezi Piranha is a good start for a beginner here... i really don't want to harm anything that i can't take care of. i am reading a lot and trying to prep an aquarium for the first time.

Sanchezi require just basic, common sense care and don't have any specific problems. For optimal growth and health I'd install a quality filter, something that pumps 300-400 GPH, a powerhead for current and a heater that can keep the water around 80 degrees.

Sanchezi should be considered a solo fish in anything under a 6' tank. Starting with fry might be a little different but I'd be certain the Sanchezi would kill anything put in a 54 gallon with him. They;re only interested in the tails of most fish and will nip them relentlessly. This particular Sanchezi was raised in a tank with Reds and I'm currently keeping him with my Pygos but a large tank is needed for that.

This guy has excellent personality and isn't timid at all. He's yet to chase my finger but he'll come right to the front of the tank when I approach it and just hangs out watching me maintain the tank.

sounds easy enough... i think i have what i need, but what i do lack is actual cover that i've read that piranha need/prefer. that, and how do you go about making a light more dim?
