is a pacu the black fish that looks like a piranha? aren't they harm full to us humans aha
As long as you don't dangle your fingers in the water, attempt to hand feed it, or stick your fingers in its mouth, a pacu harmless.

I disagree with the "no tank is really sufficient" comment. Any tank that is 8'x3'x3' or larger would be fine, imo. There is no such thing as a captive bred pacu that is 38" tall, and actually, I've never even heard of a wild caught specimen that large. They usually get to about 24" tall max.

theyll grow to as much room and food that they have available. those pacus had the room being in a lake and more than enough food so they kept growing and growing!

That's not at all true. A fish's growth is not solely based on how much food and space it has, if it was, then there would be people keeping 5' pacu, 2' oscars, and 30" goldfish all over the place. A fish's growth is determined by a combination of its environmental conditions and genetics, so it's not like just giving a fish a lot of space and tons of food is going to result in an insanely huge monster. The reason those pacu in the pics got that large was because they had good genetics and an ideal environment to thrive in, and they most likely were all pretty old (meaning they've had more time to grow), but I guarantee you that not every pacu from that same body of water will ever reach that same size, let alone a fish in captivity.

i know oscars are very smart and they know their owners but if i'm gonna get a solo fish why not get a really aggressive one :) it'll be by itself any how . oscars also get hole in head a little too often

I really don't see the point of getting an aggressive fish if you'll keep it alone and never see it's aggression. Kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it?

Oscars have tons of personality, get big, recognize their owners, decorate their homes to their liking( regardless of how you want it) and don't cost much. Perfect wet pet to me..
