Got that little moorii. He gave me a run for my money. Luckily he made the mistake of running into a pvc pipe and then into the net!

Have you tested the ph at different times of day? And out of the tap? The kh sounds really low and that could mean an unstable ph. A ph crash could easily kill fish, but would also cause the tank to recycle. If your other reading are correct I don’t think that’s what caused your fish’s deaths. But it should be monitored.
No signs of ich right? Any flashing? How’s their poop look?

No ich, no flashing, the poop that I have seen looks normal.
The way I have to do water changes is crazy. I live on the river. Our water comes from the river, so it's full of chemicals. I draw the water from the hot side and let it sit over night. I boil water to heat it to the tanks temp and I add Prime to the buckets. I even wait 15 minutes in between buckets to let the fish acclimate.

Wow, that takes dedication. I’m guessing that’s why the kh is off then? I hope some of the more experienced keepers jump on. I’m not sure what boiling the water does to effect the fish, but my instincts say that may be to blame. I am just guessing here so don’t take this as fact.
