Beyond pissed...

Probably some goofy P.E.T.A. kooks out doing what they think is a goodwill deed by purchasing the turtle and setting it free.
 
Call the humane society and report to them that you suspect the customer is going to eat the turtle. They will find out where these people live with CC purchase info, and store camera in the parking lot for license plate.

In front of his wife/gf whatever, kids. I didn't know whether to laugh or be offended at that point. So obviously i could do nothing, so i got one for them and boxed it up. They asked some questions, and were polite like nothing happened. This was the first time i heard someone say something like that, usually they will lie and say they have everything, or listen and not understand.

What a w*nker. back when i worked at my LFS for a few weeks there were some idiots who'd come in.
 
He wasn't going to eat it....they were the type where they look at them. And whichever one looks at them, they think "thats the one! it love us"
 
... Okay... I know a lot of turtle owners who keep theirs in tubs... and kiddie pools.

There is not a whole lot you can do about the costumer though. Just don't judge the book by the cover though. ;) I know when I go shopping for supplies, people think I am an idiot because of what come out of my mouth. :D
