Bichir Autopsy

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for posting. Sticky worthy.

Ive had this same concern for my endli who is wc. Some polys are just thicker than others but shes on the fat side. Ive been making an effort to feed less pellets and more chopped whole fish like silver sides. They only get fed 2 or 3 times a week but we never really do know whats going on under the hood right

Thanks bro. Great point... Makes me wonder how many calories a captive fish really needs given lower activity level compared to in a river or lake.

Nutrition is a sensative subject for some lol.

My thing is how old is the bichir ? What was it fed ? When someone tells me their fish is in the teens im more likely to follow their advice over the common blah blah blah ingredients blah blah lol

We talk about foods and nutrition on and off the open forum allot and im still at a loss. Talked to some one the other day that has a cb endli thats close to 17 yrs old. Yet we see so many have health and genetic issues. Also see wc fish live long lives and others just poof suffer the mystery death.

Haha I've seen some vigorous dicussions on nutrition here on MFK! :nilly:This fish was probably a year old when I bought him, another 2.5 years with me so total of 3-4 years probably... Damn 17 years! That's wild. Probably huge by now!
