Jennifer O. Reynolds is a Senior Aquarium Biologist at the Vancouver Aquarium in BC, Canada. She wrote : 'Polypterus endlicheri congicus closeup the infamous "crocodile fish" of Lake Tanganyika. This fellow was often seem swimming away- just a quick dash of a tail followed by a cloud of muck. But on a couple of occasions it allowed itself to be examined quite thoroughly! This bichir is a facultative air-breather, and a primitive fish! I wonder how old this individual was. It was at least 1 meter long!'
