I think a 75 gallon is about the smallest recommended size for a green terror. the terror nips at the bichirs sometimes but they don't even react...like they don't even feel it. Mine are in a larger setup, so maybe this wouldn't work as well in a smaller tank. Also, the GT is around 7 inches and the bichirs range from 9 to 14 inches. I think you would just have to be prepared to rehome something if it didn't work out.

My buddy has an african butterfly and its beautiful! it eats out of your hand, will eat any insect you throw its way, and barely ever leaves the top.

I was wondering, what would be good mid and top dwelling african fish to house with my future monster bichirs? I have 2 endlis, 1 del and an ornate. I was just thinking of future possible tankmates. Thanks! Any suggestions?


I have a question to about bichirs, I am getting a 2m-60cm-50cm tank
" possibly 60-60" pretty soon, and I want about 3-5 fish in it. I def want bichirs and maybe a pair of peacock bass but do you guys have suggestions for a fifth predatory fish? bottom/top/mid dwelling could be anything as long as it wil eat feederfish

Rule of thumb anything that will not fit in the polys mouth. Be careful not to add aggressive tankmates for example certain Cichlid species.

This one had me going........then I realized its 4+ years old the guy putting Oscars or wolves or odoe or other top predators with his polys probably only has the top predators left.
