Tiger shovel nose
Tiger Oscar
Tiger barb
African tiger fish they all use tiger in the name
Many years ago before half of you never even knew what a tiger fish or dat was I spent years on Asian websites mainly arofanatics long before MFK was even born
What I did was read and research tigers for month so I could tell the difference between all of the tigers so yes I didn't need to as is this tiger ST IT NGT NTT or AT I knew because I done the research on fish I intended to keep for a long time unlike most of the people who use the dat section who don't seam to know what they are buying they could be buying a fish that grows to 5 ft for all they know which is wrong people should do the research and know everything their is to know about that fish before bring it home

On all the Asian websites dats have always been called tigers
It's ment to be good luck to mix certain types of fish in the one tank

Dragon = ASian Arowana
Tiger = what you call dats
Flying phionx = flagtail
Majestic shelter = not sure of the name of this fish as it has never interested me

Do a bit of reading on tigers before buying them then you won't look silly when you buy a thin bar and start a thread saying I have just got my 1st ST

The only types of tigers ANYONE may have problems telling apart are IT and ST a chimp could tell the rest apart

Even with a few hours research you should be able to tell IT and ST apart

Is a few hours research to hard to do if you are that interested in a fish that you are thinking of keeping for a long time

Most tigers come from Asia and they call them tigers so I will continue to call them that not some trailer trash name like dats

And I know my spelling and grammar sucks so no need to point it out

There...I condensed it and kept it topical as the rest of the rant does not pertain to me or what we are talking about...So you say all the Asian websites call dats tigers but that only shows that the term is just a popular slang name that caught on and stuck.Don't get me wrong,I am not knocking you for your choice of name for our esteemed fish.I saw your sig and wondered about it untill you made a reference to it in a recent post. Then I had to pick your brain about it.

I think he is just having fun because he knows he is annoying people and gets off on it. AKA troll.

Its rather rude to come into someones thread and talk bad about the fish he/she is keeping. Anyone has the right to keep whatever fish they want and if you can't deal with it then gtfo...

Again I state it's a open forum so I can say what I want within reason

If someone show their tank and it's 2 ft with a 10inch red tail cat in it with multi colour gravel plastic plants and a ship wreak must we all say nice tank and a great fish I think not that tank owner will get ripped to bits for keeping a red tail cat in a 2 ft tank what's the difference

That same person who keeps the red tail cat gets ripped into for the fish he's keeping but it's ok to rip into him but it's not ok to rip into someone keeping a man made fish like a parrot

Double standards

People don't like people keeping red tail cats in small tanks I don't like people keeping parrots what's the difference

No one said you had to comment anything ever. Theres a difference between telling someone that they shouldn't keep a large fish in a small tank and telling someone not to keep blood parrots. Keeping a large fish in a small tank is not good for its health and keeping a blood parrot has nothing to do with that. Theres no harm in keeping blood parrots and if a person wants to keep them then they should be allowed.

This thread showed a crap parrot fish fighting with a IT for me that's good reason to tell someone to dump the crap parrot

If someone has a IT and it's getting the crap beat out of it by a NGT what would the advice given be I think it would be rehome the NGT or the IT my advice was the same even if I went about it in a different way

My advice was to dump the crap parrot which would have been the same advice given about any 2 fish that are fighting

The OP said he intends on keeping tigers for a long time and wishes to expand his collection

So my advice would still be the same dump the crap man made parrot fish which is just taking up tank space which would then give him more room to buy much better fish like more tigers

I still seams strange to me than we are allowed to bash people about some fish but not others

I will continue to use the much more proud name of tigers rather than a cheap crap name like dats as tigers are a friend stunning fish which deserve a better name than dats

Tigers is not a slang name it's what they are tigers fish not dis or dat
