I don't know if it was so much with the water quality. He's seen worse with pacus I had, and never affected his eating. When I brought kitty fish home, I was in transition of getting rid of the pacus and redoing the tank, but kitty fish kinda came home with my unexpectedly into a dirty tank. But, who knows. I know my rtc is VERY sensitive to the water quality, and my rtc x tsn is sensitive to warmer water..
But, I do agree. Not too often do sick fish that we can't figure out what's wrong survive and thrive. I did the same thing night after night of kitty fish doing his swoooping up the food...vacuum cleaner...I screamed, jumped up and down, actually had a lil' tear in my eye. Strange how attached we get to them.
