Big dead fish disposal ideas?

I've always just thrown my dead fish in the trash, in an extra bag if it's a few days from pickup, but I am curious now. How deep do you have to bury them to not smell them?

I wouldn't eat aquarium fish if you ever use medications or additives for treatment.
