Update. He took a turn for the worst he has some fight in him but not looking good at all. He's not getting better with treatment now

Okay last Update unfortunately he did not make it. He has passed on.

There was nothing more I can do and this is his last pic before I discarded him

Yeah I knew he was going to die in a few days since he got extremely worse and nothing worked for him. I literally felt so insanely bad for him he even kept on going to the top gasping like a whale does for air. I had airstone to everything in the tank but I knew then he wasn't going to make it.

I measured him hes actually 10 inches. 11 inches in the bowfront lol makes him look bigger I guess.

Thanks @predatorkeeper87 for the medication list which helped a lot. The sad thing was I couldn't euthanize him my wife was even surprised.

Im sorry about your fish, I used to catch Texas cichlids by my house all the time. They're beautiful.
If i can make a suggestion, id dose your tank with kanaplex ( i know its been suggested already) i had a outbreak of something that was causing dropsy (i know a host of bacteria can cause this, and they arent the one that cause duck lips) and although i lost the late stage fish, everything else made it with flying colors, and it quit spreading. What i am trying to say is that Kanaplex is one hell of a drug that could save your tank.

Treated both tanks his hospital tank and the main tank with kanaplex. He only had it but someone suggested I should do it and I did.
