Big Tanks = Boring Tanks?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ill take my 750 and my 24"+ fish gliding across the tank and splashing any day. Although I would not mind a 750g+ planted with about 2000 tetras as well. It might be peaceful. Something about a big ray and a 28" tigrinus cat dragging driftwood across the tank is very exciting to me.

Anyone else find that once they upgraded to monster aquaria and fish that the hobby stalemated a bit for them? I remember having a lot more fun with my 50 gallons than I do with my tanks that are hundreds of gallons. What's going on here?? Am I just a weirdo?

Maybe you are burning out a bit.

I like all sizes, but love the challenge of scaping and stocking the larger tanks. Ironically enough, my larger tanks house fewer fish though.

My biggest tank is still my favorite.....

I sort of agree with the OP to a certain extent... Large tanks with large preds CAN be boring due to the fact most o the time its hard to scape a tank in hopes that it stays in place for an hour or more, making them in essence boring to look at...

These days i find myself staring into my smaller planted tanks more due to the more natural way my fish act with all the plants and added deco...

Although with this being MONSTER fish keepers, most will probably disagree...

I guess I am a weirdo after all, it's official! Although, this comment probably comes into play as well..

EDIT: I guess the "no tank is big enough" mind-set that every aquarist is aware of has really set in for me as well, I thought once I got to a certain size I'd be happy, just hasn't happened though.

Bigger is better. Small tanks are cool too when done right
