By this im saying, when people can no longer keep thier fish or put them up for sale do sizes matter? I've noticed that many sites feature price by size...bigger the fish...more money.

Im curious because thats how I know in the future.....such as my cousin has a sail fin tang in a 70 gallon.....He likes the way it looks, but is going to sell him when he's to big. He's pretty big the tank nearly six inches length and about 5 inches high. Does this mean that it worth more as a "Show Size Fish (Near max size of fish)" considered more valuable?
:D

Mmmmm not always true...

I think it depends on the price of shipping the animal from its original location, or the difficulty of breeding it, rarity etc.

I think its true for most fish that arent super common and extremely easy to grow out. Things like common plecos, pacu, oscars, etc can barely be given away in alot of areas.

thats where the magic of craigslist comes in... people can get rid of almost anything on there... cances are that someone in the area has a huge tank and they might just so happen to want a big fish like that, you never know

Size does increase value. He should take it to an LFS where a high quality salifin should get him a good ammount of store credit at "show size". That being said a salifin most likely wont reach show size in a 70g.

imo it matters salt vs fresh, in fresh water typically the price goes down as it approaches and passes 10" and then once it reaches 18"+ the price is always free to a good home.

in salt where "show size" is a usable term the bigger it is, the more its worth.

this is extremely true! recently got a 8in lion with the bowfront and just put him on criagslist to see if anyone would look and sure enough im gettin 90 for him where the lfs would only give me 70 on consignment

everythin is over priced. you think fish are bad you should go look at ball pythons or any snake morph besides colubrids
