Mine has a beak face and his body is weird. I have a hard time getting a photo that shows it. But he has a lumpy body. The front right side behind his head is think then by his tail is thin but on the left back side is thick and skinny by the head he is not all one thickness on both sides. It's hard to explain. He also has a funny face when you look straight at it.

Here he is but you can't really see what I mean. If is fine and happy is a little pig.

In this photo you can kind of see what mean about his body.

Bad breeder, face is a dead give away. My beak face ebjd stop growing around 4".

Yeah he came from the lfs so who knows where he is from. I think he will just be a deformed runt for the rest of his life.

mine has cross eyes on the front of his face, looks hilarious, but he also has really long fins, so looks nice anyway, i wouldnt risk him with any other fish tho :P

 pics please!

Here are some pics of mine. Here in a few months he will be 2 years old, these pics were taken in june. I bought 3, one died and I sold the other to a LFS. The one I sold had a beak mouth and colors where not as good as this guys. I have seen one on here that the person said was 10" and looked like a mature fish. I think the blood lines are pretty bad for the EBJD.

I'll play along . . . I have an 18mos old EBJD that has been about 4" long for the last six months or so . . . he has had bad beak-face since he was about 6mos old . . . his growth slowed down dramatically after he got to that age

below is a terrible cell-phone pic - - the colors are right, but I just cannot get the brightness/contrast corrected properly - - that shows the beak face, and his sunken-in eyes. I don't think he is "blind", per se, but his eyesight is terrible, and he has a very tough time finding his food

I'm not the type to cull fish, but if I were a breeder I would certainly take this fish out of circulation
