Biggest Firemouth in MFK

This is the firemouth I used to own. It’s a damn shame, at the time I didn’t have proper tank space for him, so I gave him to an LFS worker that placed him in his home aquarium. He was an occasional glass banger, and was really aggressive:

My firemouth would more than likely win the biggest jerk competition but not the biggest.

They can be tough. Mine holds his own with fish that are (allegedly) much more aggressive. He doesn't boss the JD around, but he's not bullied either. He spends his time herding the Silver Dollars.

That guy is chunktastic. It would be cool if they reached 10". Then again, you'd probably have to keep one to a tank.

Here's mine 7 years old, at lat measuring he was just slightly over 6".

And a pic with his female, she's almost 5" and just as old.

They have been together there whole lifes and have produced thousand of fry. I really like these guys. Sorry about the crappy pics they were takin with a phone.

Just kidding. He's a pee wee. I've read they can reach 7". I hope I jump-start this thread. I'd love to see a giant Firemouth.
