Biggest fish for a Ten gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree .. I wont promote other sites to take you away from MFK..
however, some sites are more directed to loving the hobby and not obsessing over it.

I love MFK, because there is always a lot to learn, a lot to look at, and for the most part a load of great people.

I visit other sites to, like many if not all others here ..
you may not be from Canada, nor the east coast ~ however feel free to check out east coast aquarium society .. just google it, I'll not link it out of respect..

the sites more or less community style owners, from nano to I believe max is 400gal.

Anyway.. Enjoy MFK for what it is.. a great place to learn

I'd say this site is for any one really, just that it tends to have more people who happen to have larger tanks, biggest one so far being i think the 52K Gallon Tank, and Close to 1M Gallon Pond??

But either way, don't let the size of your tank get in the way of a place which is great for learning about over doing anything and everything whenever possible :naughty:

Just gotta remember to research before asking a common question, since its most probably been asked quite a few times ;)

I agree, this site is also for people with ten gallon tanks. even those of us who have big tanks have a ten gallon somewhere with something in it. I would go with Dwarf puffers myself to answer your question though.

Check out the Mini Monster Thread. IT has a list of species and their tank requirements for many "mini monsters" for tanks 55 gal -. You should find a few suitable choices.

I agree, this is one of the best threads on this site as far as information is concerned.

I think most fish under 3" adult size would work if they don't require a school to feel comfortable. One school of three to five 2" fish would max out a 10 gallon. Planted will help with hiding places and filtration a bit, but make sure you don't remove too much of their swimming room with plants and/or decorations. You could also do some very small fish, then one "showcase" fish. In this case, I'd add 3 or 4 neon tetras and a dwarf gourami, but that's me.

I would put some wrestling halfbeaks in a 10 gallon and the tank can be planted as well. THEY ARE HANDS DOWN the coolest fish for their little size.

.. I have 8 cray in total.... I have never once seen them eat any of my plants...
maybe Im just lucky...

As for stocking your 10, sure a cray would be fine as long as theres a spot to call home in there.. you could also add a few neons or danio's... ooh, or guppies.

Love to see some pictures ones you have it up an running

(ooh, also keep in mind, in time you will need a larger tank for a cray.. they do get fairly large
and heres another, so your not judged to hard, lol: http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=515989517)
