Biggest fish for a Ten gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you could do
5 half beacks very cool gar like fish (not gars) or

1 pair of convict cichlids or

a few shell dweller cichlids or

maby a firemouth (personaly i would not put them in any less than 20g but i no people that have)

there are a few other options just reasearch thats just what come to mind

convicts are your best option for something aggressive and a 10g is ok for a breeding pair they have been bred many of times in a 10g and its amazing to watch there breeding behaviour:headbang2

throw in a breeding pair of wrestling halfbeacks(brackish) and they will fight any other fish that gets near, you could do
1 pair wrestling half beaks
6 bumblebee gobies
and maybe 3 indian glassfish
but thats with brackish water, so only brackish tolerant plants. you could also do:
6 zebra danios or white clouds
1 hillstream loach
and maybe 3 otocinclus, but thats freshwater and with high currents and oxygen levels

like a few other people have said this fourm isnt just for people with huge tanks so dont be put off if youve got 1 betta or 50 100g aquariums this fourm is for every one and and dont suggest aquarium central on mfk youll get a warning for advitising a nother competing fourm just trying to give yous a heads up i got a last warning for giving a link to a lighting mod on a nother fourm witch i didnt eaven read the rules on mfk

you could do 1 pair of wrestling half beacks that are brackish but you could do 5 of some of the smaller half beacks half beack can cope with just a small amount of salt in the water they dont need very strong brackish at least ive found

Yes it doesn't matter what size tank you have. I had a planted tank with 3 dwarf rainbows 2 cory catfish a kuhli loach which hid always and 6 neon tetras. As was said you could do 4 swordtails 1 m 3 females and a couple of cory catfish. They like the company of one another. Mine was a ten gallon and it worked fine. So don't be put off by someone with a "big tank" syndrome which he probally doesn't have. This is a great site. I know a few who don't even have fish and enjoy reading the posts for the information.
