That's just the housing for the impeller.
lol sorry

i would try to glue(with special plastic adhesive) or putty it back together, and see how that works. its seems the impellars are kinda over priced.

agree

yeah majorly, and i dont think thats going to work the magnet part is completely cracked lengthwise in two places

i guess if the two filters i have on it now do ok then maybe ill just stick with them (one is rated for 20g i think its like a 20yr old whisper filter but still going strong lol, and other is only like for 10g) right now i have the bio rings in the one rated for 20g and the mech in the one rated for 10 so we will see how it goes (the tank is a 20g Long if i didnt say that before) and both of them together are a h**l of a lot quieter than that frikin emperor by itself

I always use pets place and older what I think I need at one time since if its over $100 its free shipping. Impeller there is $16 so get a bunch of supplies at the same time or something.

oddly enough thats a trend im starting to notice with marineland, there products seem quality and work very good for a while, then some thing goes wrong. i noticed the sound problems one my penguin after a few months, the petco brand filter is whisper quite in comparision lol.

but i guess thats a trend now for products, my dad complain of the same things with his power tools, he buys a new set every 5 or 10 years, the ones from over 30 years ago still work while the newer ones break or decline in performance after 5 years.

AKlass that is a good practice but im in process of redoing my 125 so pretty much most extra funds are going to that and dont really need anything big (just food and stuff like and and would be lifetimes supply if i ordered $100 of it lol) and sostoudt i know its crazy, sadly products are now just about cheapest possible product with most profit instead of trying to do quality product thats still decently priced, i actually liked this filter but if the impeller breaks that easily it makes me wonder if maybe it was going to break soon anyways (it really only sucked in like one air bubble before i caught it and stopped taking out water, yet immediately stalled and within 5secs was off completely) so yeah i think im just gona stick with the two smaller filters and hopefully they should do the job and can barely be heard :)

2 penguin 200's been good for a year now. Not a huge amount of time but they seem solid. I would personally only get Aqua clears if I bought any more HOB's I love my AC110's AC70 and AC50's

Yeah Last $100 I just spent was on a bunch of driftwood and food. I'm also using marineland products and still haven't had a problem. I'm running the old penguin 330s and a used magnum 350 and they're still going strong.

Aren't the penguine filters basically the same filters that you can get at Wal-Mart rebranded to a regent without biowheels?

May be an option if you need a quick fix.
