How many gallons? What are the other params? Don't do waterchanges during a cycle. Wait until the cycle is complete. What kind of substrate you are using now?

These are the important ones. Don't selectively answer.... Answer all the questions.

The thing about Amquel is that I used it before with Bio Spira and my tank cycled..I used Bio Spira with tanks that had bio filter problems also and the tank did cycle with Amquel..I have been using Amquel for a while.

Bio-spira did not prolong your cycle. Your cycle isn't happening at all. We need more info to help you with the problem. Also, Bio-spira only "wipes out your nitrites" by converting it to nitrates, which cannot disappear without a water change, or extra help from filtrations (purigen).

Yea, I asked the LFS guy about this... I wanted to get my money back from Bio Spira but he told me that the Bio Spira wiped out my nitrites... Maybe he does not know what he is talking about but that is what he told me...

did ya give him the website ( :j/k: ), at least I finally got the answer of your filtration.
If you had all that running for a month and you didnt do any water changes then something just aint right.
Why not try a bottle of Seachem Start Right, cant hurt and is cheaper than BS.

Or you could start over. Drain the water, take out the ugf and get a ac110 or canister then refill and see what happens.

Maybe I did too many water changes..I did about one about two weeks ago, then I did a complete 100% water change last week to switch out the filter..And I did one a couple of days ago..I am thinking maybe I did not give time to ammonia to spike high enough for nitrite to appear..

But anyway, if I buy Bio Spira again to try to resolve this problem, I think I would be very foolish!

I would assume from novaleks web sit that it removed the ammonia source from your bacteria. http://www.novalek.com/kpd58.htm I'd guess that's what has happened because if your ph is below 7 there would most likely have been some of it avaliable in your water column for quite some time. If you've treated with it recently you might want to treat your water with some activated carbon.

Yea, but I dont think Amquel is the problem in cycling a tank..I used it before and my tank cycled..I used Bio Spira with Amquel before and the tank cycled..I think I just did too many water changes and it is prolonging this cycle..And the Bio Spira I bought did not work..And I am not going to buy it again or I am not going to buy the batch that was sent to my area at this time..You see, Bio Spira can be mishandled by handlers keeping it warm too long or it could have expired and all the live bacteria died off..So in conclusion, I would be out of my mind, if I bought Bio Spira again at this present time..

I think that's why you've had problems. If you change all the water you go back to square one and begin the cycle again.

Hi, I take everything back about Bio Spira..Right now, Bio Spira seems to be working since I have a very purple postive .25 in nitrites..So in short Bio Spira is doing its job...I would recommend Bio Spira for everyone who is trying to cycle..It is a good product..That is why I spend my money on it...This product Bio Spira should be sold more widely like how Hagen's Cycle is in every Petsmart and Petco..In a few more days, my tank should be cycled, hopefully..
