Bit by your fish?

i have had my 10'' oscar bit me when i was cleaning his tank it drew blood and hurt.
he jumps at the lid on the tank when i leave the fish food on the top. my other 8'' oscar swims at the glass trying to eat the smaller fish in the tank next to him. My other 3'' oscar has jump out of the tank at me a couple of times when i am trying to feed him.

Years ago my friend had a big Oscar. And I must have been stupid but I was dipping the tip of my finger in the water purposely for the Oscar to bite/nibble it. I wasnt really thinking of what could happen. All the Oscar did was hover about 2 inches from my finger going in circles and looking at my finger, and then it would look at me like, " Hey Im not dumb".


I was reading about the teeth they have in the back of their mouth, Im glad I didnt get bit. I dont know why I was doing that but it was stupid of me.

My oscars always bite me but its more of a playful thing.... I think. My lungfish got my last night when I went to go pet his head. Broke the skin and I bled pretty good.

Ive been bit by a few puffers. They think my fingers are worms are something. my old 6" MBU even got a little blood. His sheep teeth hurt a little. Scared that crap at of me thats for sure.

Thats when I learned to not look the other way with your finger just above the water.

I recently started hand feeding blood worms so that one fish doesn't run off with the whole cube. My jack dempseys jumped out of the water to bite my hand. Didn't hurt at all but surprised me. They aren't very big yet.

Pickerel once or twice when I use to fish a lot. Now I always use plyers, those damn things have mouths like saws.
