Bit by your fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've been bit pretty good by my 12" male Jaguar cichlid on many occasions while preforming water changes. My breeding pair of Convicts bite me all the time too.

I got nipped by my Florida Gar once, drew some blood thanks to those needle sharp teeth.

I had the poo scared out of me one day while cleaning out my one 600 gallon outdoor pond. I stuck my hand in the water to remove some algae and got bit by one of my yellow bullheads. I jerked my hand back so far the fish came flying out of the water!

Whoa!! Thats crazy!

Also been bit by a 9-10" yellow bullhead.. Yeah that one hurt the most, stayed in tank though haha.
Little sunfish pack a pretty decent bite, scared to let the bigger one bite me.
8" Oscar had a pretty strong jaw, but the bite didnt feel like anything.
Bunch of small loaches, just can hardly feel it.

From everyones posts, I seem pretty fortunate.

The more memorable ones are...
15'' dovii hybrid
it hurt/bled

15'' florida gar
he somehow only got me with 3 teeth, but it bled ALOT. Wasn't very painful though

7'' RD
bled/hurt

Sunfish? as in Bluegills? lol I pick em up by the jaw when I fish! bulheads bite hard and then refuse to open their mouths. im goin fishing for those fish 2morow but for the bullheads i wont have any more stories...i invested $10 on fish grippers lol but i used to get bitten all the time. I'd catch one i would stick my finger in their mouth , they clamp down, and i have them by the lower jaw like a bass

i have flowerhorns that will rip my hands up when im triyng to do water changes, i had a rose queen jump 6 inches up out of the water to take a piece of krill out of my hand before i was ready hahah

Whoa! Big fish always make me scared. :(
