ok well it might not even happen kuz now i might end up with a 48"x18" footprint, and 39" tall

That would not be a very wise choice in a tank. That 39" higth in combiantion with only a 18" depth makes for a maintainence nightmare.

how does that impact maintainence?

the 39" depth would make it harder to siphon the bottom. combine that with the 18" width and it would be hard for maneuver your cleaning instruments. that is my school of thought.

ok cool then the search continues

so bump for how to ship a 20" arowana  :nilly:

personally.......... (i guess its because i dont want to get a fish only to know that i would have to sell it later) i wouldnt get a black arow until i am 1000% positive i could house it longer than a year or so........... my dad almost killed me for selling my silver arow when it was 18" because he said it was cruel to buy a fish only to sell it later.....(which wasnt my plan, i was hopefully going to upgrade... but had no room in new house; sadly)......... my dad almost killed me over selling a $40 fish....... imagine a $235 fish

i always buy fish that i know i can house for a long time, or at least plan to house them for a long time............. i wont buy a fish that i know i cant house later on...........but thats just me........

i think your other plan would be much better without a black arow but thats just my opinion.:D
