Eventhough you bought a Leichardti which is very similar to a Jardini.

but i like jardinis, jus dont like that attitudes. jardinis go for 90ish in my area depending on time of year, im willing to spend a lil xtra even if its similiar jus for the fact that it could actually have tankmates. and i dont really see the similiarities, thats like saying asians are similiar to jars as if the color has no meaning. lei has way more color, more elongated body shape, way more relaxed attitude compared to a jar. on top of that, i dont think you understand the price differences, silver arowana, 30 bux, black arowana, 300, jardini, 90ish, leichardi was 130...

BTW ethnics....I got my black arowana for $150:D

I guess it all depends on location for price. I got lucky. Some places are cheaper than others. I could probably double my money easily if I decided to sell it. The blacks are worth the price though for variation:headbang2 .

yah i kno tankyou, like i said on my previous post, if i found one for a decent price, i'd snag one. i've always wanted one but i can't spend 300 on one. not because i can't afford it, but i guess i jus dont want one that bad

me to, there's one locally but the retarted asian lady that runs the shop has it in the same tank as a jardini and its only like a 30gal tank, and the jar is beating the crap out of the black. she wants 300 for it but i tried to explain to her how beat up it was to maybe get it at a better price but nope, she still wanted 300 :(

I love both silver and black arowana and IMO there is a world of difference betwen the 2.

First of all, the black arows fins are more pronounced with deeper bluish hue coloration(we all know that one). My silvers have a redish tint to their fins. Also, I don't know why people think they blacks not shiny because my black arow has plenty of "shine" to him. Here is some pics just taken of my arows around the same size: 2 silvers and 1 black for comparison.

As far as growth: The very last pic was in January when I first got my black arowana. Notice how small and immature the silvers were compared to the black back less than 2 months ago. The silvers are catching up quick and will surpass in size in the next 3 months. Also note: The torn fins the black had when I got it and how well it has healed with absolutely NO medication. They will heal on their own for those that do not know.

You choose and tell the difference between the 2.

Wow nice fish! :D

just to let you know that TODAY i ordered my 3rd black ( could not resist).

Now it's 8 s americansfor me...

The problem is I'll have to bring back a huge tank to the living room ( no more space in the f room ) and I had promised my wife that no, no more darling, I promise!

For the first time in 20 years she seems keen in having me stick by my word....

I like the color of the blacks better. The dark scales outlined by hues of blue and pink are just stunning.
I have both, but I'm leaning to the black being better.

Rally you have the awesomest silver aro ever, it was the pic of your 265g on ac that made me want one so bad in the first place. Im gonna get black though since i can get 1 for only 75$, i think the biggest advantage of getting a black is the smaller size(if the biggest tank you can get is a 6'-2' like me)
