its a public forum bud,the whole point is to express opinions good or bad.if you cant handle it, dont read it
I hear u on that, and for me I would handle those flammers and show them who is their daddy LOL
I agree about public forum and anyone entitled to their own opinion including the OP, but crucifying person for not doing it what u want them to do is not an opinion.
Most of them r just freaking flammer posters. 1 sentence "opinion" that's what I call flammers, post whore or whatever u want to name them.
If u want to give opinion, give a reason why its bad/good and what's not instead of "OMFG u r stupid"

I get a kick out of how many people flame this guy and yet this sight has sport fishermen posting stuff all the time. I fish and all I'm just saying its not like he pierced his fish or anything, that would have been cruelty.

Fishing is a sport that promotes the health of overall fish and without it, I doubt the fish keeping hobby would exist.

People feeding their fish other fish is a natural thing that happens. Thats like getting mad companies that sell frozen blood worms. This isnt PETA.

I think most people get attached to specific fish, or fish in general and respond in certain way when they feel a fish being mistreated. Not hard to understand IMO.

Fishing is a sport. It HOPES to promote the overall fish; but I do not think the sport exists to the benefit of the fish.

And use your example, fish nip other fish all the time ;)

Now I don't have a problem with live foods or fishing; but to see fish feeding videos and say that is cool but turn around and say fin trimming is cruel is just weird logic.

I do not see why fishing sport promotes the health of overall fish.
It is also natural for human do things like playing god.

I completely understand that, what I don't understand is people who flame, isn't it the flammer problem to get attached to "specific fish"? And makes it ok to flame because its their "specific fish" kind?
I do not see the OP mistreat the fish, what I see is he is doing surgery to speed up the process of healing the fish and make his fish. And yes I'm sure he sedated the fish before doing it. Otherwise the fish would be dead.

Fish feeding videos for the most part are for entertainment and its a natural thing for fish to eat other fish. Fish nipping also happens for the most part because people keep fish in tank unsuitable for the fish they are keeping. When each fish in the wild has lets say 100,000 gallons of water to call its own for the most part, "nipping" doesnt happen. Sure some people are cruel and like to watch their mean fish torture other fish. For the most part people have fish tanks for entertainment and because they love their fish

What doesnt happen naturally is people clipping fishes fins in hope hopefully making a fish look better. Whether or not it is healthy, or if it hurts the fish, I do not know, but common sense would say cutting a fish for your own benefit and not the fishes is cruel.

Wow...did you just say it is natural for people to play god? Might be the most contradicting statement I have ever heard.

Of course we love to play god. We creat artificial environments in our homes for fish that normally live in the wild.

By doing ANYTHING that would qualify as playing god, we are straying further and further from NATURAL. Many people strive for their fish tanks to be as "natural" as possible. Of course it isnt natural if it is in a fish tank.

By fishing promoting fish keep I just meant it helps by putting more money into research into the fish as well as increasing the people who care about these fish.

Imagine if people never fished or ate fish and the only people who cared about fish were the fishkeepers. The state of water ways for the state of the actual fish would be drastically different as well as overall knowledge on fish. Fishing might as well be step siblings to fishkeepers when it comes to thing they care about when it comes to fish. We all share most of the same ideas.
