Like many have said before, instead of hurting your fish, even though it may "look" better, spend your money on a fish you dont need to do surgery on.
 
I feel for the OP regarding on how you want your fish to look perfect, but i don't have it in me to alter any living things appearance. Due to the pain that you have to put the fish in and other mishap that may occur. Good luck on your fish appearance and health. Please do post a pix of your aro with regenerated fins, very interested on the outcome.
 
guys plz stop flaming if you think its that bad dont say anything but in my opinion it was not a very humane way of doing things but niether is having and wild animal in the confines of a large glass box
 
apart from jokes what is so bad about it? i've had tones of fish that used to nipe each others fins, especially my piranha and they it would grow back no problem.

most of you guys don't realize it but hes in a completely different country it seems and from what i hear this is pretty common practice in Asia. The fins should regrow.
