The black goliath "noir mbenga" is the same sp. as the goliath im sure. The fish is out there, this is not bigfoot sighting. Danns book clearly states that the goliath caught in the black river is clearly black. Perhaps because of the acidic waters (tannins). The pectoral fins of the black goliath are much thinner then those of the main river mbenga. So there u have it...

not all fish turn dark when they die, many turn white, and tigers certainly don't turn black. for all those people who hate, doubt, sour grapes., hope this answers your question. i've had tigers fresh dead, to dead for years, in and out of water, non of which turned black. so stop hating. Please refer to these pictures, I took them, I have more pictures of dead tigers, different stages of death, I'll post them up when I find them....

Is anyone willing to try keeping a regular GATF in an aquarium with lots of black water extract added, and ketaphang leaves, just to see if that affects the fish over a period of time?

Even if it doesn't turn the fish black, it is worth it to contribute knowledge to the hobby that it may not be external influences that makes the fish black.

"pectoral fins of the black goliath are much thinner then those of the main river mbenga"

Adding black water isnt going to make the pectoral fins thinner---
