Those little peters remind me of lawn jockeys and from what I can tell may have similar origins. This is an interesting thread. I've never heard of this before. I'll have to ask some British friends of mine about it.

You would have a hard time selling blackface to my parents and grandparents as anything other than what they have experienced as. I agree white chicks was ignorant and racist but consider the source.

my parents yes (well def my uncles), grandparents no but your point still stands.

btw, deniro in tropic thunder was hilarious but the first time i saw it i was like oh hell nah.....this isn't going to fly with everyone. luckily a lot of older people probably don't watch movies like that though
