for a great information key on any Saltwater shark or Stingray pick up the book form Scott W. Michael titled Aquarium Sharks & Rays. You'll find your answer and then some.

I have that book its a great read, and very informative

My black tips were in a 26,000 gallon tank the specs are hard to give as it was a custom tank but the front glass was about 25 feet long or so and about 10 feet deep.

No worries. I was just trying to understand where you were coming from. A lot of people swear up and down by info they picked up somewhere, and when it comes to captive shark care, a LOT of it is wrong info. We just try to put out the right info for people.

The thing is when it comes to fish keeping especially with sharks you have to take what you read with a grain of salt. I believe that you should never take information from just one source you need to read many articles or books. When you look at it that way his book gives you a good start to getting on the right path regardless of whether his info is 100% correct. I still would recommend his book.

Totally agree the book is great for information but I feel that it can also be changed in area's and was just being stupid when I read your reply. How many Shark tank's you got if you don't mind me asking?

plllleeeeeeeeaaaaseeeee put up some pics of this....

Unfortunately it is no longer up and running. I worked as a professional aquarist and the store that had the tanks is now closed so the tank is gone. It was a sad day as those sharks were my babies. They were about 4.5 feet long, there was 2 females and a male. It was a pretty sweet tank. You should have seen the equipment that was required to run it.

Prior to moving to South FL, I was Curator of the world's largest shark collection. We had more shark/ray species on display than anywhere else in the world. Right now I'm working on displaying sharks in two areas (250,000 gallon and a 600,000 gallon). We just wrapped up getting the quarantine area set up, and should be collecting next week.

At home, I breed coral catsharks as a side project. There's a thread here somewhere about it.

that's great to hear I would love to see some picture's of your breeding setup if you have time to post it and your tank's you look after. I have not kept any SW shark's as of yet I lost my job and need to find a new one and build a bigger home for my future tank plan's
