Wow,I remember the first blacktip I've ever seen was in a store that I used to work in years ago .The shark was about two feet in length, the tank was a 180!:( I hate to even think of what became of that poor creature.

What would you suggest in terms of length of body multiplier for slow growing, non-ORV swimming shark? Smoothies or zebra shark, for example? Just as a rule of thumb - curious what'd you suggest.

Smoothhounds slow growing? Maybe you need to research Gray Smoothies - which can reach maturity in as little as 24-30 months.

As for recommended pool sizes for non-ORV swimming species. Small smoothhounds (3-4') Matt's (zoodiver) suggestion is again right on the money. Gray Smoothies should have pool/lagoon with a footprint of at least 147 sq.ft.

For Leopard sharks it's better to go with a Length at least 6 x maximum size. So for a Leopard Shark - a tank/pool/lagoon with a footprint of 400 sq.ft.

And for those whom are considering a Lemon Shark(and there are some private Aquarists that have attempted to keep them), remember these sharks cn get to be 11' long (335cm) or more - so they would need a tank/lagoon with a footprint the size of small Public Aquarium (about 2,000 sq.ft).

Lol, I read that book, it is horrible. The size proportions for the tanks are far off and far wide. I found the book very funny.
