bloat?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The tank has been in treatment for 24hrs and no i didnt quarantine him, but the tank was divided to keep him seperate. He was eating great and mouth locking with my female until a few days ago. Then he had the white poop.

Oh evveryone else was eating and acting fine. My female is pissed im not feeding her lol

Now he has another poop. This one starts super thin from the anus and then thickens and has 3 "balls" on it, its all white

My festaes survived but didnt eat thru the whole treatment even if I fed them...around the 6th or 7th day of treatment every other day they started eating again...

I also used epson salt not aquarium salt...once they started eating I continued soaking their salt in food before I fed them...I have a thread about it

Ok thanks crazylegz. I will use epsom salt when I do the waterchange in the next couple days.

No problem...What are your water parameters like and how long has the tank been running?

The tank has been set up for over 3 years and before I started treatment I was doing 50% water changes every other day so Im sure the water was fine. I fill up 45gal trash cans the night before and i treat the water with prime, so ph and stuff should be stabilized. I use the trash cans for all my tanks and again he is the only one sick.

Oh and the tank has a 75gal filter on it filled with only biological media and prefilter pads.

I was just asking cause when I had my bloat problem with my festaes, they said it could of been from my tank not being fully cycled or something new to the tank brought it in...in my case it was either the new 2 inch flowerhorn that I got rid of or the live tubifex worms I was feeding once or twice a week that I no longer feed and have had no problems since...
