I'm not sure which kind of cichlid this falls under, but I was wondering what the difference between a male and female blue ahli is, and if any one has pics of the two. Also, I was wondering how difficult they would be to breed.
Thanks,
-Jordan

It would help if you looked the correct name for the fish which is Sciaenochromis fryeri.
Hap. ahli is an old trade name for this fish which is incorrect and is actually the name of another (less brilliantly colored) fish of the same genus, Sciaenochromis ahli.

is there a noticable dif. in color at a young age (2")? i mean between Sciaenochromis ahli and Sciaenochromis fryeri.

I'll try and get a few close ups in a bit I got a couple but the glare is bad and i need to run back to work for a bit.
