A guy called me tonight and told me he is selling his Blue Spot Rays because he is moving soon and would like to find a good home for them. 2 are the normal ones and 2 are the red sea ones and they are all around 8-9" across and his price is 90.00 ea. He has had them for 2 years now and he said he went through 2 or 3 others before he got these hardy ones. I am really thinking about this since they are eating and healthy. Hmmm

Picked 2 up tonight, acclimated and put in the pool, seem to be interested in everything they are 6" across, these are the ribbontail ones, the trygon blue spots will come next week.

Do you have them in the "cold" pool with the cali's?
They are in the same pool but I have since warmed it up to the mid seventies. All the time I have thought the the California Rounds need it cooler, BUT I have since learned that at least 4 out of the six I have came from the Cortez Sea and that is not 60 something degrees, its in the mid seventies and the Cali's can handle water from the high 50s to the mid seventies and alot of it has to do where they are collected. They have seen them all the way up to Oregon down to the Cortez Sea so I am going to leave it (pool) around 72 in there.

Ok cool. I was just curious, not trying to step on any toes. Coincidentally, I just "rescued" (hopefully) a male Blue Spot today. He's very skinny/and small~5" across. His old owner had him for 3 weeks and never got him to eat. I got him to eat 5 pieces of squid and 1 sliver of a scallop already, so I hope he'll make it. I'll try to get some pics of him tomorrow so we can hopefully have some before and after pics.

Cool, hope he makes it. I have noticed that at feeding time they are not as aggressive as the cali's so I hope they will get enough to eat in here.

They should start feeding really agressively. Mine are pigs; constantly splashing for food/attention. Anyway, here are some pics of the male rescue. He's skinny (you can really see it in the base of his tail), but he's been eating well today too. The last pic is him next to the biggest girl.

I just fed the rays and the blues dont stand a chance with the cali's as far as the big pieces. It looks like the blues are eating the small pieces that are settling to the bottom. What are you feeding yours? Mine are thin at the base of there tail too and that seems odd for someone having them 2 years and feeding twice a day, hope this guy was for real and not some guy selling out of his house.
