Also, what's different about their venom than with any other ray? Are the Blue Dot Stingrays venomous in ways other than stinger?

Just wondering, because someone mentioned them being venomous in an ad. Guess they meant they haven't been surgically neutralized.
Have never heard about their venom being different

came home tonight and noticed the thinner of the two has its fins curled up abit but went ahead and force fed them both. The healthier one swam around for a while then buried itself in the sand. The thinner one just sits next to the other with the pec. fins slightly curled. Is this what is called the death curl starting to happen?

That sucks, sorry to hear. Is the remaining one eating on it's own at all or are do you have to force feed it every time? I'm feeding my skinny guy small amounts about 5 times a day. He doesn't eat as aggressively as the girls (which is a pain, because they constantly try to steal his food), but he is eating.

the remaining one was eating on its own but very little I thought, so I have been force feeding her also but tonight I will see if she will eat on her own. When I looked down on her just a few minutes ago she tore out of there knowing what to associate me with, the net and some food jamed down her throat.

i fed the rest of the rays after I fed her (forced) and she went looking for more food but not for long. I think I will do it this way for a week or so to add some weight on her and then go from there. Roastreef do you run rodi?

Yes, I do use RO/DI (I assume you're talking about reverse osmosis/de-ion right?) I have about 500 gallons and I change 60 gallons a week on average. You could try to use live ghost shrimp for the time being to fatten her up. I'm actually a little concerned about my male. He eats, but he's not as excited about food as I'd like him to be. I'm going to start soaking his food in garlic tomorrow to see if that encourages him to eat. You could try that as well, because I'm sure force feeding is a pain in the rear.

Can't be as bad as dropper feeding a young squirrel....that lil turd has gotten to where he humps my hand when i reach in there to do anything....O.o
