Another batch in the 6ft from 2 really nice parents. They fungused up pretty quickly but managed to get a few, litterally 3 fish lol

But now I get to see what this generation's offspring will look like... super blue? super red/blue? I'm keen to find out....

Well the fry are a bit bigger now, they have 0 blue so far haha...ugh, they do have a cool orange dorsal fin though, blueish hue in the body so I'm hoping they develop into something cool. Waterchanges every 3 days and full bellies 24/7, they almost hand feed to and are not shy at all, probably because they are getting special treatment lol.

Will update in another week or 2 as i should see some sort of pattern or colors happening by then, i could see blue spots on their parents already at this size so it shouldnt be long (if they do develop into stunners).

These are the fry from the keepers from the 2nd gen.
There's 2 pairs laying eggs every now and then, the parents are on page 2.

Well after 10 days they have developed colour! Looking very promising with blue being the dominant trait.

The darker one is developing the most, it looks similar to another fish I grew up in the last batch, it pretty much has no colour and is just blue, keeping a very close eye on this fella.

The other ones are a developing as well but I can see on the larger one has a divit just before the dorsal fin, so that means it won't be bred with.


The orange highlights are interesting hey? Almost neon like directly under the lights.

Comments welcome good or bad, they are due a wc today and I might find some mosquito larvae for them to get some different nutrients into them ?

Another update, i will have to seperate the smaller one soon and i'll put some dither fish in the tank with the other two so they don't beat each other up too much.
