This is the same male a couple of months ago when the tank had a piece of driftwood and some moss in it:

how old are they?

I'm pretty sure I bought them in April... give or take... at 1"... So they are almost a full year old.

This is the nicest (although wasn't the biggest) male and only surviving female out of a group of 12 or 15...

I spawned this male with a Blue Gene and the babies all looked horrible so I removed him from my breeding line. I want to eventually try the female with a male Blue Gene but have low hopes for her offspring too. I won't mention their source as others have used this 'line' as breeders with better success than I had...

I'm currently matching different BG x BG pairs to find the best mates... I have a few young broods that are looking promising...

I'm not selling any of them for the time being. I plan to grow mine out to young adults and sell them for an arm and a leg ;) What do you think 6"+ Blue x Blue pairs should go for?

Another seller told me that he plans to sell at $15 an inch, so for a six inch one he would be charging $90. To spend that kind of money on a shipped fish I would want to see the exact fish I'm getting before ordering. I also wonder if some people are getting away with selling fish that may end up not looking great when they are full grown since they don't actually grow many (any?) out.

Also, if what you said is true that it only takes about a year for them to reach that size, it sounds like it would be a wise investment for me as a customer to buy them small. I would love to buy 3" EBJDs.
